Nestled in the gateway to the Picos de Arena, Lleno de Vida is a vast, bustling city, which is home and centrepoint of the Aquarius Chapter. Located in the northern hemisphere of the planet Arena in the Canol system, the capital is the only urbanised environment on the entire planet - owing to the extreme conditions of Arena's surface. But that has not stopped the local population from building an entire economy.
Bounded by rocky mountains to the north, east and west, and an endless desert to the south - known colloquially as El Cementario - Lleno de Vida is protected by a border of "blindaje"; an arc of powerful devices that use air currents as a barrier for sandstorms. The city itself is dominated by the Aguja Acuario; a national symbol of the Aquarian people and a monument to their arrival on the planet many generations ago.
Although the Aquarian people are relatively isolated in the city, in recent times it has become a leisure hub. For those wishing to unwind in recreation may find the Spa Dome or Aquatic Paradise a heavenly retreat - much cheaper than any other destination for interplanetary guests. Not to mention the scenic, guided tours along the Beber Valley, on the edge of the goldenbear habitat - an endangered species once hunted for its luscious coat.
In the OA19600s, Aquarian politics began to stretch further afield with the announcement of the Greenpalm Union, an alliance of ten planetary nations. Unbeknownst to the local electorate, this would lead to a catastrophic recession, bringing an end to many local businesses, and an unprecedented reduction in interplanetary vistors. What had once been a thriving, vibrant place had turned to chaos, with many citizens moving as refugees across the human systems. Without assistance, Lleno de Vida is on the brink of crumbling into obsolescence.
As one of several planets featured in first chronicle of the Cosmogenesis Hexad: The Immortality Paradox, Arena and its capital plays a significant part in the overall narrative. Find out more in the debut novel, coming December 2026! Preorders open in November!
